I’m Lune (or Lun), they/she. I speak Dutch and English, and am a 26 year old Queer coach based in the UK. I am also the child of a mentally ill parent, dropped out of previous education multiple times, and have a BSc in Applied Psychology (LOI). This combination provides me with a unique understanding of people through knowledge from not only research and literature, but also lived experience. I really do understand that sometimes you aren’t focused on growing, just on surviving. And that’s okay, too.
After never feeling like I fit in as a child, I realised as an adult that I am part of the LGBTQ+ community in multiple ways, got diagnosed with ADHD, and started making sense of my experiences growing up. This wasn’t an easy road, and some days it still isn’t easy. What does make things a little easier is understanding that we are not meant to do everything alone, and having tools you can rely on.
I have spent multiple years in therapy and have seen different coaches growing up. Though there were positives, I struggled with the lack of space to simply reconnect with myself and being able to explore my identity, outside of expectations and norms. What if instead of trying to make me fit in, we just find a place that fits me? And how do I use all of this information in the real world?
Finding a place I could safely feel my emotions has helped me grow into a softer person and strengthened my ability to set boundaries. I now hold a lot more grace for the person I was (and am becoming), and know what practical daily things help make my life a little easier. This is an example of something coaching could help with.
My coaching is all about meeting people where they are at. Some people are after a safe place to breathe, others want to find themselves, make daily life more manageable, or reach a specific goal. All parts of this spectrum are wonderful and very welcome. I work not only from my educational background, but also connect with coachees from one human to another. Because I believe that’s where growth starts, with being seen.
